Adding Custodians to a New Matter

Below are the multiple ways to add custodians to a new matter through the Add Custodians page:

Search

1. Type a custodian’s name in the Search bar
2. Once the Custodians panel on the left side has populated with the correct custodian, click the check-box next to the custodian’s name to add them to the list of matter custodians. 
3. View the custodian in the Identify Custodians field.
4. Repeat steps 1-3 to add all custodians. Once all custodians have been added, select Add in the lower right-hand corner to to add all custodians to the matter and return to the Create Matter page.

Hold Groups

1. View the DISCO Hold Groups in the Custodians panel on the left side.
2. Click the check-box next to the custodian’s name to add them to the list of matter custodians. 
3. Once all custodians have been added, select Add in the lower right-hand corner to to add all custodians to the matter and return to the Create Matter page.

Bulk Upload

1. Click the Bulk Upload button on the right side of the Add Custodians page.
2. Paste or type a list of custodian email addresses separated by commas in the Paste field and click Process.
3. The email addresses associated with custodians that have already been added to the system will appear in the Found box, while any email addresses associated with custodians that have not been previously added to the system will appear in the Not Found box. The email addresses appearing in the Not Found box may be added as system custodians by clicking the Add Non-Found Custodians as System button. Note that system custodians will receive a notice only — any required holds on source will need to be made manually.
4. Click Submit.
