When logging in to DISCO Hold, you will be initially directed to the Matters tab where you can view the Matters Dashboard. You can create a matter by clicking the Create New Matter button in the upper right corner. You can also locate, access, and make changes to existing matters from this page by clicking into the Name of a matter and opening the Matter User Interface. Matters Dashboard
The Matters Dashboard is a list of all matters contained within the DISCO Hold system. By default, only open matters are shown on the initial screen. Below are actions you can take on this page.
- Category Selection: In the category selection header, matters are divided into Case Type and Matter Status. You may select a Case Type from the first row and a Matter Status from the second to view all cases within the selected Case Type and Matter Status. To view all cases, select All in both rows.
- Filter: To the left of the Matters list is the filtering system. The Filter allows users to select Matter Properties by clicking the drop-down menu associated with the property and selecting the desired attribute. Users may filter by Case Type, Status, Creator, Attorney, Custodian, Source, and Matter Type.
- Export Matters: The Matters Dashboard may be exported by clicking the Export Matters button. A CSV download will launch automatically, reflecting any filtered information contained on the Matters Dashboard (throughout all matters, not just the first page).
- Change Attorney: The attorney assigned to an individual matter may be changed by clicking on the name of the Attorney in the matter’s row, choosing a new attorney from the dropdown in the pop-up window, and clicking Apply Changes. Note that only attorneys with access to that matter’s case type will be shown in the drop-down menu.
- Change Matter Status: Matter Status may be changed for individual matters by clicking the Status for the desired matter, choosing a new Status from the dropdown menu in the pop-up window, and clicking Apply Status. Note that Open matters cannot be returned to Draft, In Review, or Kickback status. If you move an Open matter with public custodians to a Closed status, you will be prompted to send an email through DISCO Hold using a Notice Template to notify public custodians.
- Copy a Matter: A Matter can be duplicated by clicking the
icon under Actions and selecting Copy. This will open a new Matter with the same properties as the Matter that was duplicated. You may make changes, as necessary.
